Electrical Standards, Rules & Regulations

1. Vendors having paid the required electrical service fees may utilize festival provided power. Vendors utilizing 120-volt power (standard 3-prong plug) may plug in their own cables. Vendors utilizing 240-volt power (4-wires) must be connected by the festival electrician.
2. Vendor booths must be National Electrical Code compliant. Unsafe booth will not be connected to the power service.
3. Vendors must provide a minimum of 150 feet of appropriately sized electrical cords. Cords may be any combination to total 150 ft.
4. All 120-volt cords must be 12/3 gauge, outdoor rated extension cords with a ground (3 prong). No 2-prong cables are permitted.
5. All 120-volt services are protected by Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI). All Vendor-side 120-volt connections must work on the GFCI service. It is the vendor’s responsibility to ensure all equipment will work. Festival electricians are not responsible for repairing any equipment not working on the GFCI service.
6. All 240-volt connections to the power service will be made using a vendor provided 4-wire cable using an open wire end (pigtails). Connections will be hard-wired, and no plugs will be used.
7. All electrical cord connections (120-volt and 240-volt) must be protected by waterproof covers, kept dry, and off the ground to protect from rain and other fire and shock hazards. Camlock connectors are recommended for all 240 volt connections.
8. 240-volt cable splices require camlocks.
9. Vendors not utilizing protective covers to waterproof electrical connections may be fined per each violation and/or removed from the festival without refund.
10. No one is permitted remove covers from electrical services. Services are only to be accessed by authorized personnel.
11. Electrical breakers will be reset a maximum of three times. If a breaker is blown a fourth time, the electricity will disconnected from your booth without a refund.
12. Microwaves and electric heaters are not permitted.
13. The local Electrical Inspector has jurisdiction on booth electrical and the Chamber of Commerce is not liable for booths not being Electrical Code compliant.

Only the plugs highlighted can be plugged into the power services. All other cables must be hardwired into the power service using bare, open wires (pigtails).

If you do not have a cable that can be wired in, you must prepare one in advance. Cables may be adapted to provide a bare wire connection.
